The ilustrations in this section are a mish-mashed medley of sketches some of which were intended to be acrylic paintings. The mountain and lake scene #005 hangs in my brother's house as a fairly decent acrylic work, if I dare compliment myself.
My favorite cartoonist, Jeff Swenson designed the Snowflake and Snowman cartoon for the Paper Snowflakes for CHildren web site many years ago when he was just a wee, budding jokester. I am forever in his debt.
Every now and then I think of humorous scenarios that are like mini-plays in my head and I can't resist the compulsion to jot them down. Here's one...
Imagine an Interview for A Job at the Anvil Factory
A job applicant arrives for his interview at the ACME anvil factory on the first day of the factory's new advertising campaign.
Every employee is expected to wear an anvil hat all day. The only problem is the manufacturer missread the instructions used real anvils.
So in the spirit of the celebration the applicant dons his anvil hat and attends the interview. Everyone at the interview also wears an anvil hat.
By the end of the interview everyone's head is laying flat on the table under the weight of the hat as they continue to try to conduct the interview.
I could sure see that skit on saturday night live!
