Puzzles and games both educate and entertain children. Some of these puzzles are based upon a selection of timeless and historic puzzles gathered and published in the Project Gutenberg Amusements in Mathematics, by Henry Ernest Dudeney. Many puzzles on the market today are updated, reworked and revamped versions of puzzles thought up centuries ago. Technology changes and people change, new versions of ancient games continue to challenge and trigger interest.
Puzzles help children develop their logical, analytical and reasoning or critical thinking skills and abilities.
Not too long ago I illustrated a color book tree to add to the Easy Family Tree section. When I tried to color the tree, I discovered something wrong. It took me a few minutes to locate the problem, which prompted me to think this little mistake would make for a fun, easy puzzle for the little ones. I intend to post more 'mistakes' in the future ;-)
