First Step designs are very simple, elementary patterns with basic cutout shapes which may be useful to introduce math concepts. Four or eight-branched snow crystals do not exist in nature but they work wonders to teach the concept of symmetrical design to children and beginning designers.
Decorate the windows, Christmas tree, classroom or office cubicle with paper snowflakes. Print all patterns on regular or colored paper. Trace the patterns onto foam sheets and aluminum foil to create unique designs.
Color book snowflakes are perfect for very young children and those who cannot use scissors but want to enjoy creating beautiful snowflake ornaments for the holidays. Outlined, finished snowflake shapes for children can also be used as patterns for crochet, embroidery, latch-hook rugs, wood work, stencil and other personal art projects. These snowflake patterns are completed versions of the fold and cut patterns available in the folding section.

|The design #2001 forms a cross or an "X" shape when folded with the 2 sided pattern.||But when applied to a 3 sided pattern #3001 the same "X" transforms into three arrows converging.||When #2001 is applied to the 4 sided pattern
#4001, the cross or "X" resembles the quadrant cross.
|when #2001 is applied to a
#6001 6 sided pattern, the shape resembles the Union Jack which is a combination of several different crosses.
